SPINDLE FILMS
Queer Stories, Structured to Shine
Services: Web Design + UX Guidance
Spindle Films is a Canadian production company based in Toronto and Calgary, known for creating high-quality, boundary-pushing content that centers on 2SLGBTQIA+ characters and stories. They’ve been hard at work on their first feature film, Really Happy Someday, and partnered with studio VOX for the relaunch of their website ahead of the launch of the Spindle Films Foundation.
PROBLEM
When Spindle approached us, their website had outdated information and visuals, a confusing backend, and several blank or broken pages. They needed a full refresh that not only reflected their growth as a company but was also functional and easy to manage on their own.

SOLUTION
Through our collaboration, we refined existing content, updated their visual identity, and brought clarity and structure to their site. A key focus was building out the new Spindle Films Foundation section—a non-profit initiative supporting transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming Canadian filmmakers.
We designed the site to be approachable, inclusive, and accessible, ensuring it would resonate with their community and audience while remaining easy to navigate across mobile and desktop platforms. I also walked their team through the backend so they could confidently manage and update their own content moving forward.
